For the 20th time, the HMAA HC is organising its summer conference, a special milestone in the life of our organisation. The aim of our anniversary event is to look back on the achievements, experiences, professional relationships and friendships that have been made so far.
The Hungarian Medical Association of America-Hungary Chapter (HMAA-HC) is organizing its summer conference for medical students, residents, doctoral students and specialists. During the conference, medical students and young physicians studying in Hungarian and foreign programs will have the opportunity to learn about the HMAA Buffalo and Houston Exchange Programs (open to sixth-year students) and meet students who have already participated in the program. You will also have the opportunity to listen to interesting lectures given by former and current fellows, as well as renowned Hungarian and foreign doctors and professors. The friendly atmosphere of the multidisciplinary conference offers a great opportunity for participants to have informal discussions with both professors and physicians working in the United States.
Awards:
The best presentations will be rewarded with valuable prizes by the HMAA and HMAA HC. The best presentation in English will be awarded the Irene and Ivan Krisztinicz Prize offered by the HMAA, and the winner will be invited to attend the HMAA Annual Conference in Sarasota, FL, USA, sponsored by the HMAA. Istvan Mechtler Prize. The best presentation by a North American medical student will be awarded the Peter Forbath Prize, also sponsored by the participation in the Sarasota conference. Best presentations in each specialty/section will also be awarded. Only participants who have completed the membership registration and become members of the Hungarian Chapter of the HMAA in advance will be eligible to win in their section: hmaa.org/hmaa-registration, and https://www.hmaa-hc.hu/tagsag/ - both places require the completion of membership registration!
Location and Date:
The conference will once again be held in the Villapark in Volga: villapark.hu. Accommodation is also provided for the evening before the congress (27.08.2026) and is included in the registration fee.
Date: 27-29 August 2026 (Thursday-Saturday). The lectures and the technical programme will take place on 28-29 August 2026.
Language of the presentations: English or Hungarian.

Registration and abstract submission for our 2026 conference will be done simultaneously. One speaker per, English only can submit an abstract. When registering, you have the option to tick the preference for the form of performance (oral presentation or e-poster). After the submission of the abstracts, a jury of several experts will evaluate them in terms of content and form and, taking into account the preferences, will classify them into oral or e-poster category (we cannot always guarantee the indicated preference, the submitted work may be reclassified based on the jury's decision).

Registration fees vary depending on the time of payment!:
Early bird - before 15 June 2026: 85 000 HUF
Regular - after 15 June 2026: 100 000 HUF
(if the amount of the transfer is not received by the association's account by 15 June, the participant will have to pay the higher fee)
The registration fee includes conference participation, conference gift package, 2 nights accommodation, lunch on Friday and Saturday, gala dinner on Friday. Special dietary requirements (e.g. gluten-free menu) are available at an additional cost - please let us know at least 7 days before the conference.
It is also possible to attend the conference without a presentation, but you will still need to buy a full registration. The same applies to accompanying persons. On-site registration is not possible.

We can accept one registration per email address. The registration form can be saved temporarily. In this case, the system will send an email with a link that allows you to continue and finalize your registration at a later time.

Cancellation Policy:
Until July 26, 2026 23:59, the registration fee 25% will be refunded on request, after that no refund will be possible.
Accommodation Information:
Villapark Várgesztes, 2824 Várgesztes, Hrsz. 201 25. Situated close to Tatabánya, the park surrounded by the greenery of the Vértes Mountains is the perfect place for a morning walk before the scientific sessions. A barbecue/fireplace and on-site wellness facilities are provided.
Practical Information about Villapark Várgesztes: Upon arriving at Tatabánya train station, you can take bus 8441, which stops directly in front of the entrance to the resort. Accommodation for the nights of 27–29 August will be provided in Comfort Plus Apartments, each consisting of four double rooms (two-person apartments). The apartments are well equipped and feature American- style kitchens with a stovetop, microwave, electric kettle, and cooking utensils, as well as refrigerators for storing ingredients needed for breakfast. A small grocery store is also available within the park.
For Thursday and Friday nights (27-28.08.) accommodation is provided in Comfort Plus Apartments - 4 rooms/apartments for 2 persons. The apartments have a well-equipped kitchen (hob, microwave, kettle, cooking utensils, fridge) to store all the ingredients for breakfast. There is also a small grocery shop in the park. Lunch on Friday and Saturday and the gala dinner on Friday are included in the registration fee. Thursday meals are on an individual basis.

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the HMAA board. The scientific board may reject abstracts with low overall scores. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent via email by 2026.07.15. at the latest.
