The Hungarian Medical Association of America-Hungary (HMAA-HC) is organizing its summer conference for undergraduate students (medical, dental, pharmacy), residents, post-doctoral students and specialists. During the conference, Hungarian medical students and young doctors will have the opportunity to learn about the HMAA Buffalo-Houston exchange program (open to sixth-year students) and meet students who have already participated in the program.
You can also listen to interesting lectures given by former and current peers, as well as renowned Hungarian and foreign doctors and professors. The friendly atmosphere of this multidisciplinary conference is a great opportunity for medical students to have informal discussions with professors and doctors working in the United States. Presentations in English and Hungarian will be available at the conference.
The best presentations will be rewarded with valuable prizes by the HMAA. The best presentation in English will be awarded the Irene and Ivan Krisztinicz Prize, offered by the HMAA, and the winner will be invited to attend the HMAA Annual Conference in Sarasota, FL, USA, sponsored by the HMAA. The best presentation in Hungarian will be given by id. Istvan Mechtler Prize.
The best North American medical student will be awarded the Peter Forbath Prize. Best presentations in each field/section will also be awarded (e.g. best presentation in neurology/surgery).
The 2025 conference will be organised in the traditional way, with a personal presence.
Last year's congress debuted in a new venue and, based on the feedback, the great success and good experiences, it will be held again in Várggestes
will take place in the Villapark in Vorguesge (https://www.villapark.hu/).
This year, as an innovation for more convenient participation, we will also provide accommodation on the evening before the Congress, which is included in the registration fee.
Conference date: 04-06 September 2025 (Thursday-Saturday)

Registration for our 2025 conference and abstract submission will be done simultaneously.
A presenter may submit one abstract in English only (the formal requirements for the abstract are available by scrolling down). During registration, it is possible to indicate a preference for the presentation format (oral presentation or e-poster). Once the abstracts have been submitted, they will be evaluated by a jury of experts, who will assess the content and form of the abstracts and classify them into oral or e-poster categories, taking into account the preferences. Participants will be notified by email by the end of July about the acceptance and the category of their abstract.
Abstract submission deadline: 15.06.2025. 23:59 CET
Registration fees:
For HMAA members: 75 000 HUF
Non HMAA members: 90 000 HUF
The registration fee includes participation in the conference, conference gift package, 2 nights accommodation (details below), lunch on Friday and Saturday, gala dinner on Friday.
It is also possible to attend the conference without a presentation, but in this case you will still need to register for a full registration, given the location and the accommodation and meals included in the registration fee. The same applies to accompanying persons.
No on-site registration.

Upon redemption of your HMAA-HC membership, we will send new members a one-time-use coupon code ("membership code") by email, which will be redeemed upon registration to pay the discounted registration fee. Please also register on the parent organisation's website using the link below (free for students - "Junior Member"): https://hmaa.org/hmaa-registration/ . This will ensure full membership.
There is also the possibility to receive conference participation funding from the four medical universities this year, please contact your local TDT or your local HMAA student representative.
We can accept one registration per email address. It is possible to save the registration form temporarily, and the system will send an email to the registrant. By clicking on the link sent in the email, the registration can be continued and finalised.
The registration fee can be paid by credit card or by bank transfer.

Situated close to Tatabánya, the park surrounded by the greenery of the Vértes Mountains is the perfect place for a morning walk before the scientific sessions. A barbecue/fireplace and on-site wellness facilities are provided.
Practical Information about Villapark Várgesztes:
– Upon arriving at Tatabánya train station, you can take bus 8441, which stops directly in
front of the entrance to the resort.
– Accommodation for Thursday and Friday nights (September 4–6) will be provided
in Komfort Plus Apartments, each consisting of four double rooms (2-person apartments).
– A small grocery store is located nearby. The apartments feature well-equipped, American-
style kitchens (with a stovetop, microwave, electric kettle, and cooking utensils), and
refrigerators are available for storing ingredients needed for breakfast.
– Lunch on Friday and Saturday, as well as the gala dinner on Friday, are included in the
registration fee. Meals on Thursday are to be arranged individually by participants.
